Exclamation Hydro Booster???

I don't know for sure but something is causing vacum pump to break gears...

Maybe a bad hydro booster pressure locking and not realesing, or steering gear box???

Something is applying pressure and breaking the gears!!!

IN Serious need of help!!!

I would say either the PS or vac pump is seizing up. I would not think it is a hydrobooster or PS box problem as the PS pump has an internal pressure relief. Did you check the other gears for damage and/or wear too? Is the pump assembly mounted tight and square to the housing? If you end up needing the PS/vac pump assembly including the gear, I got a good used unit.

I appreciate the help guys, I think were going to swap out the motor. I bought a "55" block , so were going for the swap instead changing gears and flushing the motor...

If you have not swaped the motor yet, I would also check the harmonic balancer. Bad harmonic balancers on diesels can snap the balancer or flywheel bolts and it is not hard to immagine that it could damage the gears too! As ar as getting the metal out of the engine, the large chunks probably won't hurt anything. They just sit at the bottom of the oil pan and would not make it past the pump pick up tube screen anyway. I would just drop the oil pan if you want the stuff out anyway which is much easier than pulling the whole engine. When the pan is off I would check a couple of crank and rod bearings and if everything looks OK you should be good to go.
