Hydro boost brakes

Anyone rebuild a hydroboost unit. Power steering fluid is leaking from between master cylinder and the hydroboost unit. Should I rebuild it or purchase a rebuilt unit?

How does the hydroboost unit come apart from the master cylinder, do the brake lines have to be disconnected.

Give brake expert Sam Peterson at 360-357-4958 M-F 8-5 Pacific a call
He has rebuild kits for around $50 and will give you the scoop.

Theres a thread from about 2 weeks ago that lists dodge rebuild kit part number. I believe the kit was around $60. Cummins also has rebuild kit. The kits are suppose to come with instructions but is a good link to instructions in the thread mentioned. Found the link.

Hydro boost unit

Hydroboost unit is located behind the master cylinder it is dripping at that connection.

This is not the vacuum pp which is connected to the power steering pp.

The referenced threads apply to the vacuum pp.

ive found that hydroboost units rarely go out. if its leaking between the the master and the hydro its usually the master cylinder thats leaking. check this first its a whole lot cheaper

sorry i just reread your post iron man and saw you said power steering fuid. my bad. just un bolt the master cylinder (helps to remove the lines and get the whole unit out) then the hydro unbolts in the middle. you shoud beable to rebuild it from there.

I talked to Sam Peterson the brake Guru for Dodge trucks and he said it is an involved precise job not for the non professional. Others who have done found they could not get to all the seals in the unit. I decided to buy a rebuild unit and he recommended an ARI rebuild.
