Hydro Booster and a world of difference
My brakes haven't been the greatest on the truck even with the disc brake conversion on the rear. So thought it was time to try the hydro booster. I bought the master and booster for a 2004 Chevy Silverado with the duramax. Then the lines from a 2004 Chevy suburban. I made a plate at work to mount the booster too out of stainless and had a friend weld spots for a key to match up in the key way of the booster. Did some fileing and worked out great. Pretty much bolt in. Except for the rod that connects to the pedal. I ended up cutting the rod and threading it and cutting the eye off the old vacuum booster and threading that. The rod from the hydro booster I threaded to 7/16 14, and the eye piece to 1/2 13. Ended up wielding 2 7/16 14 nuts to gather then welding those to 2 1/2 13 nuts to link the two together to get the proper eye and pedal height. The response of the brakes is so much better now. definitly a good upgrade.

Thank you Thrashingcows. Boeingguy no modification to the power steering pump. Just have to T the returns togather. At some point I'd like to switch the vacuum pump and PS pump out for 1995-2001 style setup. They have the 2 returns on the resivoir. I'm not too sure what to do with the vacuum pump. My truck is manual everything inside the cab so don't really need the vacuum pump.

The only thing that makes it a little complicated is if you have a RR steering gear You have to get a little creative with the pressure hose but that too is an easy fix.

This is the next thing on my hit list. Couple questions. Are the 2 brake lines the same size as factory that ho from the proportioning valve to the booster? Also did you just buy the 2 pressure lines of the suburban? We're all the fitting the right size?
