Gooseneck Installation
Gooseneck Installation
I picked up a Valley gooseneck frame kit and flip over ball from TSC. Has anyone ever installed one of these before? We're having nothing but problems.
It was supposed to be no drill (for the frame) but we ended up having to cut out a section of the bed inside the wheel wells to even get the rails to fit under the truck. It said they would slid right behind the truck bed hat, but they did no such thing. And now we're left with wondering how to get the holes lined up to attach the brackets to the rails because the thing is sitting crooked under the bed. The holes in the rail are about a quarter inch to half inch above the holes in the brackets.
We worked about 8 hours on it tonight, and are nowehere near done, for what should have been a relatively quick job.

maybe check back with the place you purchased it and make sure it is the rite model for your truck.check part number on box and compare with receipt to make sure they gave you the rite one.
It sounds like it's to late for you now if you already started cutting, but if the holes don't line up stop and call the 1-800 line on the kit and ask them if they have had other problems with this model. It's not uncommon for the cheaper kits to not fit right, they try to make as fit all models as possible, sometimes they don't work. If this is the case you'll just end up butchering your truck trying to make it fit. On some of the cheaper models it is also easier to go through the trouble of lifting the bed off the frame high enough to put some 4 X 4 under it to make room to work. Save time and money and buy the more expensive ones. The flip over ***** in the long run have a tendency to work the pins loose anyway. B&W all the way, install takes about an hour, very clean and the only new holes are in the bed for the ball and tie down chain stay's. Bet I can get you one of these just about as cheap as you got that one.
