Gooseneck hitch installation, Drop-N-Lock questions
Hello, I'm new here. I recently bought a 2003 2500 2wd, HO, automatic, regular cab. I really like the truck, and I'm installing a Drop-N-Lock gooseneck hitch. It's a turn over ball type. After installing, it seems the ball when in storage position, is too close to the rear differential housing if you want to carry a heavy load. The ball is 3 1/4" from the brake line going across the rear end. The distance from the axle to the rubber blocks is 3 3/4", plus they can squeeze down some. I have a call in to the manufacturer, but they will not be back in until Monday. Anyone else thought the clearance was a little close with a 2wd and a turn over ball in storage position?

As already mentioned with the B&W saying it can hit the drive shaft with 2WD trucks. One other thing to think of is rust if left in the socket, B&W also mention having to keep it lubed. I noticed a big difference after the first month with it not lubed, it really became tight and stiff to operate. A little lube and it was smooth as silk.
