It's a digital gauge. How does it go bad?

Well I'm pretty sure that your truck isn't making boost when it's not running so bad gauge or sending unit is the only option here.. why? why is the sky blue???

I would find the sending unit and unplug it to see if there is a difference in reading on the gauge. If it still shows 6#, then I would think it was the gauge. If it drops to 0#, I would swap out the sending unit.
Back to morning brew . . .

The same way all electrical things go bad...quickly, easily and with little warning.
