Gas in a diesel tank

My husband pulled up to a gas pump and grabed the green handle. After he had 22 gallons of gas in the truck did he realize it was gas. What do we do. I know we have to get the gas out of there are there any easy options?

Wow 22 gallons, thats gotta be a record I think I would try to syphon (spelling?) as much out of the tank as possible. Then refill with DIESEL and add some Marvil Mystery Oil or some non detergent motor oil to the tank. It probably wouldnt hurt to change the fuel filter after running a couple tanks of this through also. I'm sure someone who has done this in the past or someone who knows how to deal with it better than me will chime in soon. Sorry to hear about this. Hopefully it doesnt happen again. Good luck

I would say that you would first want to try to siphon out all that you can then you probably should drop the tank to finish draining the rest. You probably should pull the fuel filter and drain out any gas that's in there as well. From there I would think that you SHOULD be ok but I'm no mechanic. I'm sure some others can chime in here with some more advice.

What year is the truck???

If its any newer than a 2002 I would suggest draining the tank.
