One of the most abusesive things you can do to one of these trucks is run with low fuel level. The fuel is what cools $1000.00+fuel pump less fuel you have the hotter the pump no fuel probably no pump for long.

Agreed.
When running around town, I usually refuel at ~1/2 tank.
On the road, usually ~1/4 tank.
With the fuel guages having a reputation for going bad without warning, and the risk of the "fragile" injection pump overheating, it's not worth the trouble to me to try to wring every last mile out of a tank of fuel.
