Prodigy problem/ marker light problem

Alright today i hooked up the Prodigy Brake controller to my 04' via plug and play harness...two things, i cannot get my side running lights on my trailer to work with or without the prodigy connected, the rear ones work though, along with brake and blinker, and the second awesome problem i have is that the prodigy wont confirm that the trailer is connected?..it will go through its NC then after 15secs it will sit there in sleep mode anyone? trailer is a brimar ch16, dual axle with brakes on both axles

thanks
JC

Have you checked the brake wires at the plug end from the trailer wire harness? On my trailer, they did a crappy job of tightening down the screw that holds the wire captive in the plug. The wire broke and shorted out against one of the other connections, took out the blinker relay.
Also, try running a seperate ground from the truck to the trailer (even if just temporary) to see if you have a good ground or not. On my GN, the only ground was the hitch contacting the ball, but with a rusty ball and rusty GN hitch, there was not a good ground. I ran a dedicated ground from the truck to the trailer.

First thing you should check/do to any trailer you tow in my opinion.

There are 2 differnt standards used for 6 pin, one the center pin is brakes, and the other center pin is aux. Most 7 to 6 adapters alow you to change the center pin function, so maybe you should try swapping it.
