Question removing spring spacer with air bags installed

I have a 04.5 2500 ctd QC long box. Put air bags on it before we went on our trip to the Yukon. One problem I have is that the truck is a little high and consequently the fiver front rides a little high also. Also, the clearance betwen the box rails and the underside of the trailer is at its minimum distance. I have already made contact between the two and fortunately there were only small scratches. I found the site (klenger - author) about moving the two spring spacers to the top. My problem is that Firestone says to be careful not to exceed the minimum compression distance on the air bags. I am thinking of moving just one spacer up to the top and leaving one below. Has anyone moved the spacers with air bags on their truck and if so how did it work out?
