Fuel Problem

1 year ago I replaced a lift pump in my truck. yesterday i was low on fuel and sputtered to the pump where my truck died. I put diesel in it and primed it. It ran for about 100 yards and quit. Then I pushed my buddy's chevy home with a chain.(I GOT TOWED HOME!) GETTING fuel to the injector pump, but not to the injectors. Could the problem be anywhere but the injector pump?

Have you cracked 3 injector lines and determined for sure that you aren't getting fuel there?

You have to get those chains just right to be able to push another vehicle with them.

I'd have to say the injection pump has died.

But before we jump to that,
are you sure your lift pump is still good?
Not unheard of to have one die shortly after being replaced.

Also, the obvious, when you ran out of fuel, you didn't fill it with gasoline did you?

Confirm the fuel filter cannister is full of fuel.

Just because you hear the LP running, doesn't mean it's pumping anything.

You can also depress the shraeder valve on the injection pump to make sure the fuel is making it through the cannister and to the VP44.

Sure sounds like you've lost your injection pump.

Are you still under warranty?

You might still have an out.

Was your lift pump replaced at a Dealership? and was it covered under warranty?

If so, then that might be documentation enough for Dodge to cover it, it's been known to happen.
