fuel priming

just changed my fuel filter and trying to prime the system and i know i need to loosen the injector lines but do i loosen them where they go into the cylinder head or down at the pump?thanks

normally you just bump the starter and let the lift pump refill the bowl. when my lift pump was getting weak i would crack the line on the VP44 that came from the filter bowl.
