Holley Black Fuel Pump Priming issues

I just installed a holley black, actually its a summit version, however, it having a hard time priming itself.

I mounted right on the inside of the frame rail right near the gas tank. Any ideas?

Where have you guys mounted them in the past?

My Holley Blue is mounted on the frame in front of the trans cross-member. No problems with it priming. Open an injector line and let some air out it you haven't already.

Mounted above the aux tank pick up? It seems like it would work better if it was mounted below. Could you be a little more specific as to where? Sorry for the confusion...

it's a fuel'n'tool tank so the whole top lifts up. there's a perfect spot on the left side above the tank to mount the pump so that's what i did.
