Fuel Leaking From Under Filter

this is on my 2002 2500 ho 6spd 4x4. recently had a new lift pump installed at dealer before the warranty ran out. that was 2 months ago, i have since put about 8k on the truck. this morning it was leaking fuel right from the bottom of the filter. it looks like it might be from the banjo bolt, but before i tear it apart at my office parking lot, i would like to know what parts to gather up. thanks, chris

On the topic of leaks. I recently had a new VP44 and LP installed under warranty. About a week later I kept smelling fuel when I got in and out of the truck. Upon inspection of the filter, it appeared that the O ring was squeezed out of the groove at the top of the canister. I figred I would swap the filter and takea peek at why and how the ring was exposed. DOoH, the tech at the dealer left the old ring in the groove when he pu tht new filter in and stacked another ring on there for good measure I guess.

Of course, this caused the filter canister to leak onto the front diff and stink up the engine compartment.

Just thought I would share my fuel leak issue after a dealer repair job.
lesson here is ONE (1) O Ring at a time on the canister lid, more is not better! New ring IN the actual groove, good to go.

Might need a new banjo bolt washer. Those things can get outta whack pretty easily. P.S. Don't over tighten banjos, they DO break, and it sucks when you have to have one overnighted to get your truck up and running. Don't ask me how I know!

after pulling the banjo and inspecting it, i did not find anything wrong with the fitting itself. so, i figured i would just reinstall what i have. after tightening(not too much) i think i have the leak stopped. if it comes up again, i will try replacing the washers.

funny thing about these banjo fittings...i have had two of them crack right at the weld from the fitting to the tubing on my 2003.

thanks, for the advice.
