Fuel leak, what is this line
Fuel leak, what is this line
I have a fuel leak only present while running, while looking it's either leaking from the fuel filter cap or this line, pictures below, I don't believe this is a fuel line but any help would be appreciated, too bad my spare filter is 20 miles away in the trailer.
What is this hose?
My finger is on hose and it has a definite rub mark from vibration.

The left hose in this picture facing front towards the VP, I couldn't get a picture of the back side but it goes through the firewall. Again I don't think this is a fuel line and I have a bad seal on the fuel filter but what is this line and should I be concerned with the rubbing from the filter.

Thanks

Well that's not the IP, the Ip is below that and the feed & return line on the IP have banjo fittings. That is the APPS housing, that line (I'm not sure) is the kick down cable for the trans or the accelerator cable. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.
When you change your FF make sure you use the new oring seal on the housing, most FF's come with a new one.

Well I just replaced the fuel filter and outside of my
leaving the water separator open while I bumped the starter only once left me a nice 2x4' puddle of fuel on the garage floor
That was the easiest filter change I've ever had, more props to the Walbro, no more bumping 3-5 times and cranking and cranking to get it fired up. Bumped the starter once only heard the fuel leaking all over, shut the valve off, back in the cab and saw 13psi still on the gauge. Though what the hey and tried to start, yup, fired right up.
Question though, after I shut it off the gauge SLOWLY went back to 0 psi instead of it's normal pretty quick drop. Ideas with that?
Thanks again, I just hope the seal was bad and this will end my fuel leaks $$$.

The Walbro might have a check valve.

Anyone have any ideas on the slow FP build up and the very slow 2+ minutes to read 0 now once shut off? I remember this when I changed my last stock LP (Carter frame mount) and my walbro but never with a filter change. It seems to go away with time. I keep reading about a check valve on the VP is that something that with a sudden burst of "clean" fuel could clog. By clean fuel it only happens when I change a LP and now FF's. Pressure is still the same ~19 idle 14 wot. Pressure is taken from the shrader on the VP test port.
Could there still be air in the lines? I've only driven the truck about 10 miles and about 30 minutes of idle time to check for leaks. Tomorrow I'm working on the truck
Thanks.

Is the gauge electric or mechanical?
Are you using an isolator?
Have you noticed pressure gauges that look like they have a pinhole in the inlet?
Some gauges have a restriction to keep the pulses from hitting the gauge so hard like the needle valve I use. If this restriction is too small, it won't let the gauge see the pressure very fast and gives a slow build-up & release.

the gauge is mechanical with no isolator, needle valve to control the pulsing opened maybe 1/8 turn.
I'm thinking there is air in the the lines still, been busy and haven't touched the truck yet. So much for my day off to work on the truck
The FP issue has happened before but magically goes away, I'm more curious as to what is happening and why.
