fuel leak?

A friend of mine just called and is on the road in my brothers truck an 03 3500. He said that he smells fuel and when he looked under the hood he found a leak, he said that it looks like its coming from the number six injector line near the nut on the head. Has anyone heard of an injector line on an 03 or newer truck cracking and are they available from a dealer? or are they a special order? or is there something else that he should be looking at? it is dark out and he did say that he is having trouble seeing the problem?

Is it missing any of the isolators for the fuel lines, other than that it was torqued wrong or just a bad line.

could be leaking from a couple things. The line could have a crack, with the engine TURNED OFF reach in and feel for any rough or sharp area on the line from rail to injector adapter tube and see if any movement in line ( should be solid). Also check for missing line isolator or something that could be rubbing on the line. If line is loose could be the nut from the line to the adapter tube is loose and leaking from the seat between the two and if your lucky a retorque may cure it. It is hard to see at the back so mostly have to diagnose by brail (your fingers) and remove the line to get a closer look at it. If it is the line they can be ordered seperate from any cummons part retailer or your local ripoff dealer, each line is different shape and cannot be "made to fit" another location.
