fass liftpump wiring

Im putting in a fass liftpump today and i have an extra wire coming off the relay.
Instructions tell of a red wire but not this green one .
Does anyone know were it might go?

thanks kw

ok I tried it anyway seems to work but fuel pressure is only 9 psi, what gives? thought i would see 14 - 15 psi.

Keep running it. The pressure should come up after it gets all the air out. If it doesn't, look for leaks upstream from the pump. My tank line leaked. I had to trash the quick-connect and use a regular hose clamp.

Call the dealer you got the pump from and tell him about your fuel pressure. I am only seeing 9-19 psi at idle as well, but have been advised that they are working on a fix.

Previous entry should have read 9 -10 psi at idle.

Well I pulled off the quick connect and put 2 fatboy hose clamps on it. That collar sure makes it a pain to get it on there but I did get it on far enough to get the clamps on .
Bled the system cranked it up and no more than 9 psi , drove it down the road about 10 miles and never would see more than 9 psi and I could pull it down to 7psi real easy.
Funny thing is my old liftpump was doing just as well as this one except for wot it would drop a little more. Guess I will call the dealer monday tell them what I have and find out what that green wire is for.
In the mean time I guess ill have to drive my wifes f**d

Called the dealer today and he said I might have a problem with my pickup tube in tank.
He said I should pull the feed line off and put it in a full fuel can and see if the pressure changes when I crank it up .
If pressure goes up then I will have to replace or fix my pickup tube. Sounds easy huh, bet not, I read somewhere of people installing a bottom feed by putting some kind of fitting in the bottom of the tank and pulling fuel from there but that sounds kinda scary (ie could leak).
Also said the green wire is a ground and should go to battery or another ground which is good because thats what I did with it.

If anyone has any info on how to repair or do away with the pickup tube I would be thankful.
Anyway I cant check it out till this weekend its been raining for the last couple of days (no shop) and its colder than a well diggers behind.

Someone offers a replacement pickup tube, a larger one, but I do not rememeber who. HaulinInDixie set his up with a bottom feed, using air brake fittings. Their was a thread about this about a month ago, in Performance Accesories for Second Gen, I think.

Update

Pulled the lines put them in a fuel can and no change

Something did change though, now the pump keeps blowing the fuse and when it did run it just didnt sound right.
Called the dealer and he said he was going to call fass and see what can be done, kinda acted like it was my fault but I dont know what I could have done to mess it up I didnt over tighten anything ,followed the instructions best i could, dont know but I do know that I am stuck 70 miles from my house with a dead truck

wish me luck

All good now 16 - 18 psi all the time.

Pump motor had some trash in it , dont know if that caused the fuse problem but fixed now.
Also spring for check ball was mia, got that from DPP today and alls

Gunna install my 1.6 F1's this weekend and a comp box hope I have better luck.
