Probably safer than hanging around for Rita.
Just don't use the A/C and watch your temps.
Might want to think about getting out early to avoid bumper to bumper if it isn't already too late.

You have an electronicly controlled viscous fan drive, ( the engine control module controls the fan). Looking at your options I would get out , keep a close eye on the temp. Good luck

As bill said, you can drive it, just watch the temp. If you get moving at a decent highway speed it's ok to use your a/c too as there will be air flow across the condensor. Just be sure to shut it off (a/c) if you get mired down in traffic or come to a stop.

Earlier this year I drove mine without a fan for a few day with loads. Just have to watch stop and go traffic and the air conditioner. Don't let it overheat.

Only clutch assy's I've put on were warranty, but I imagine with the technology involved......and being it's on a diesel...it's very expensive. If you end up doing it yourself I would take a piece of sandpaper and smooth the edges of the plastic fan. Check the edges and you'll see what I mean....I cut myself BAAADDD on that stupid thing.

If you aren't under warranty why not just splice the wires back together?
It sounds like the only problem may have just been a tie down that came off and allowed the wires into the fan.
