electrical smoke from defroster??
electrical smoke from defroster??
this morning I went out & started the truck & hit the wipers & they were frozen to the windshield, so I turned the heat all the way up & turned the defrost on & then the fan to the max, & in a couple of seconds the vents started belching out smoke, I killed the fan & then the motor, got out & checked the belt & it was fine, & looked for any electrical connections that may still be frying, but found nothing, I pulled the dash bezel to see if it could by chance be connections on the CD player, it's aftermarket & I didn't install it, everything looked fine there as well, I started the truck back & it was fine, other than the stinch of the smoke, when I got the wipers thawed out they worked fine on high & low, but any of the settings for the delay just cause them to go up & then stick?????? could it have been something in the wiper motor???? thanks in advance for any help, gonna post this in the 2nd gen. forums as well, thanks alot, Dusty
