Electrical Problems first day on the road
Electrical Problems first day on the road
Just bought a brand new (9 miles on it) 2006 Dodge 3500 4x4 Laramie Quad Cab. Dingy bell on seat belts won't stop even when seat belt is connected. Red eat light stays on dash .heated seat little orange lights flashing won't work, Electric seat controls won't work. I'm really impressed
Anyone have this problem or have any tips. I had wanted to leave for up country in the morning on a long planned trip but that's out unless I can fix this #$#@%$# problem. You think they could build something to last more than a day. maybe they are trying to beat Ford's record.

Well partner, your frustration level must be a 10! Guess you can only be 9 miles from the dealer. I'd be calling them and let them solve ALL your problems including providing transportation for your trip.
One of the most powerful tools we, the consumer, have is the opportunity to motivate the seller by holding them to a level of responsibility all would expect. It they can't, or won't, meet it after you've gone up the food chain far enough to reach a real decision maker just let them know you'll contact your local TV stations to see if they'd do a story on your problem. Lack of future business and public scrutiny motivates the businessman!
Stay cool and be safe!

Bummer, I'd be P.O.ed too. Sadly this won't be your last problem with the truck. They are just too complicated with electronics. My 30 year old backhoe and 20 year old 6.9L Ford will crank quicker than my new 40K Dodge. The only reason I have a Dodge is because of the Cummins. Ford and Chevy have their problems too. Good Luck with your Dealer, they should make it right. That being said, I do love diesels, esp. the old 5.9
You know a lot of Stealerships have a 5 day 500 mile no like money back deal. Check it out and give it back and get another one.
Or it might be a simple fix like they forgot to hook up a wire on the assembly line.
But if they gotta keep it for a few days just tell them to keep it and give another new truck.

We had a "small pin" back into a bayonet lock connector on the $80M Gulfstream-5 airplane. Took only 3 days for five people on the phone with tech support and in the airplane, and under it and over it, to find out what the problem was. Those pesky pins can get you
