Electrical and Fuel Problems
Just swapped out a problem child 53 block, with a take out complete motor from salvage yard with 133k on it. Now my lift pump wont work. It is orig to my truck and was working prior to pulling motor. I then tried to test voltage at incoming line and sits at 8volt. Not enough to run pump. I bypassed the wiring harness to direct 12volt feed with inline switch. got pump to work however bleeding of injection pump is not working one or 2 injectors will spit alittle but not enough to substantiate fuel flow. Oh by the way cracked banjo bolt at IP and fuel flows free. Is there a grounding isue? is there ground lines built into the fram bolts that hold the harnes to the block? Please help if can...
electrical problems
I take it that the battery voltage is noniminal 12 v's. Pin 7 in harness is 12 volt and pin 6 is grd to vp. I could be that the positive and neg that feed the ECM have a bad connection.I think that that is were the L/P is fed from. If it is bad try using a relay. Run the l/p pos to the coil of the relay and then take the other side to grd. Feed the relay with a fused wire and then to the pump. What else did I forget that I read? Lunch was good.
When you loosened the banjo bolt was that on the out going side? The fuel going into the pump was good.

The block is sitting in the salvage yard. Why do you think I should have kept the core? It was a $1000 core charge. Cummins and Dodge said they would do nothing to fix my problem...
