Drain plug cracked?!?!?!
Drain plug cracked?!?!?!
I just changed my oil last week and now my drain plug is leaking. I bought a new $7.00 plug but I was wondering if this is a common problem.. It is actually leaking from the center of the drain plug. Not from around it. The dealer told me they always put a new drain plug in these trucks when they change the oil. This sounds strange to me. Oh well, I hope the new one works. Now I have to drain all the oil just so I can put the plug in....
Re:Drain pug cracked?!?!?!
The finger touch drain plug from Genos is far and away the slickest way for chganging oil. It must be modified to drain the pan completely, and is a little slow at draining, but you'll never have to take off the drain plug again.

I got the new plug in and all is fine. You would think that the plug would come with the washer. NOPE!! I put some RTV on both sides of the washer and torqued it to 40 lbs . The old plug was cracked around the entire circumference of the base. Be careful when you tighten these.....<br>And as far as the new piece being better, as I stated in my last post, it is not. It's exactly the same!!
