Diesel Leaking

Hey guys,

Truck in my signature. Truck is back to stock except for exhaust and intake and has 90,045 miles on it as of today.

Went to town today approximately 40 miles, no problems. Grabbed a bite to eat and when leaving my wife hears a louder than normal clicking or rattling from the engine compartment and we immediately smell diesel. I pull over and see that i have fuel all over the back side of then engine. The front differential is also covered in diesel, however the front of the engine is not wet. I did not have any codes either. Truck now won't start at all and is sitting on my trailer at a buddies house until he can help me haul it home tomorrow. FYI, a 1/2 ton Chevy is not a good tow vehicle for a 3/4 Dodge.

Looking for thoughts from all my diesel friends. Things to check and look for.

Thanks guys,
-randy

Check injector lines, probably #4 is cracked.

....and for the rest of you on-lookers checking to see if your fuel line isolators are tight can prevent this issue.

I had my wife turn the key to the run position and I did notice fuel was spraying in a mist. However, I really wasn't in a place to do indepth t-shooting so I did not investigate further.

I will be working on this as soon as I get the truck home.

Problem found. Appears that #4 line is leaking up by the input of the manifold. Will try to find one tomorrow and replace. Once again, THANKS EVERYONE!!!
