Question dead on the road

ok my 93 ram has 300.000 on her now and on thusday morning i was doing about 65 when she shut down no warning got over and have lights and tunes but nothing else no red ligghts on the dash would not even try to trun over nothing i am lost and have to have her going again fast only car for the wife and i and dont want her liveing on the ship please help any ideas on what would make that happen

Sounds like a fusible link blew. Look at the wiring harness that runs on top of the driver's side inner fender, the fusible links are in that harness. Bad onew will look fried.

thanks ill try that if you or anyone else has any other ideas the more the better ill try every thing i can as soon as i get her back tomarrow as for now she is stuck in a tow yard they cant tow her home till the am

I got money on what he said ^ man knows his stuff. Dave, is there a way to jump that link to get to a place for a fuse, or is that a bad idea? a smokin bad idea.......

There's nothing wrong with replacing a fuse link with a fuse or circuit breaker.

the ones you are talking about they are 3 right is there any thing under the dash that might be the problem

The fusible link is more likely, it sounds like one of the ones feeding the ignition switch is fried.

Probably the case; however, on mine, the wire in the steering column under the ignition switch fried causing similar problems. I only found it because the ignition side of the fuse box was dead and I backtracked it to the column.

For a quick check, hot wire 12V to the IP solenoid, should fire right up, if not you can take the solenoid out and leave the plunger out, should have fuel all the time. If it runs then, it was the solenoid.
