Would like more info.....When you get past the dead pedal does the truck take off at that point????A fellow here with a 2001 had the same problem.Thought for sure that it maybe the VP.Landed up to be the ECM......To bad it wasn't the VP,it costed way more than the VP, a total of $2400......
....Complete ECM failures seem to be very rare on the 24V...Maybe disconnect the battery and clear the computer and see if the code is still there....

well after doing some reading on the bluechip site im pretty sure its the vp code is 1689 and they say that 1688 1689 are definetly the vp it is electronics failure 216 is mechanical. truck is sitting right now dont know what i am going to do lucky business is slow and i can drive my 2000. however she runs like a raped ape and then just dies out i thought it might be electrical as well.
