The Lemon Law is not the only recourse, their is also breach of contract and breach of warranty. I just settled last month and got a nice check and they (OEM) must honor the remainder fo the manufactures warranty, no monies out of my pocket, couple of phone calls and faxes to prove ownership. PM me if you want more detail.

2500WHITERAM,
PM sent.

anpconnors,
I'm very interested in what you have to say, but I'm hopeful I will get my truck back today and it will be right. If that doesn't happen, I will PM you.

All Others,
I greatly appreciate your answers, suggestions and continued support. And here I thought the net was only good for ****!

They call themselves a Dodge service center and it took them that long to figure out it was the IP?

They need to switch to Yugo's.... disposable cars... something they can handle.

No "injection pump" on a common rail.

Picked the truck up last night. The dealer replaced the Transfer Pump (part #5143160-AA) and the Injection Pump (part #R5143425-AA). Truck runs great during normal driving, but is a total dog if you mash the go pedal. I pulled a slight grade at WOT and the truck wouldn't even shift out of 3rd gear. While holding it to the floor, it just pegged at 3200 RPM and 70+ MPH (and no I didn't hold it long enough to melt my turbo). I had to back off the pedal just to get the truck to shift! Not very happy to say the least.

The bummer is I was really starting to trust the dealer. When I picked the truck up, the mechanic met me in the parking lot. He explained fairly well everything he did and thanked me for be so patient with the repairs. He explained his initial tests pointed to the PCM, however "big Dodge" told him to check the output of the pump. He said it was sub-par, so all agreed it was the problem.

I'm waiting for the Service Manager to come in and then I'm going to give him a call. I'm also considering taking it to a different dealer.... We'll see.

Lift pump...which it probably didn't need and the CP3 pump which is a two stage high psi pump. Changes the fuel volume from the lift pump up to around 250-300 psi and then the second part increases that from 5000 to 23000 depending on engine load. ECM controls this psi with the fuel control solenoid on the back of the CP3. All the fuel from the Cp outlet, to the fuel manifold and to the injectors is the same psi. The ecm actuates each injector. It can be a pain to diag sometimes, but definately a better set up than the VP44.

....that said without knowing the fuel return numbers, setpoint compared to actual rail psi, and any dtc's we're all whizzin in the wind here anyways.
