Yep.
ECM replaced, at my cost ($2300 installed). Same problems still exists.
Dealer tells me there must be a short somewhere......so they check all the wires they can find. The find that somewhere in the 46 wires between the PCM and the BCM theres a short. They supposedly looked for 5 hours straight....couldn't find it. So, they ordered the 8 ft strand of 46 wires for $830. They ordered that on Wednesday...supposed to be in Friday from a dealer in Houston. Friday i get a call that the dealer in Houston didn't really have it and its been ordered from California and expected to be in Tuesday.
but now.....since A&M starts back up tommorrow, I'm back in College Station in my farm play truck. So Tyler, when you see this truck around this week, be sure to laugh at me. something about dust and water doesn't mix.....so this is what the farm truck looks like
got 10mpg on my way to college station.

I really don't know. the ECM fried because of a short in a wiring harness. the harness had been tampered with before hand, however i don't think thats what caused the problem.

they say now that the wiring harness caused the ECM failure. Im getting everything at dealer cost since the service manager is a good buddy of mine. They aren't doing me wrong.

I don't think this dealer is throwing parts at it. The first ecm was fried and so they put a new one on and that didn't work. Ok. How were they to know that it wouldn't work? Phil should have to pay for the ECM since it is a new part (although $2300 does sound high, I dunno bout 3rd gens but changing an ECM on my truck takes all of 15 mins) and he most definately needed one. And if the harness that they now checked has a short in it and they found out for sure that it was the harness then he should have to pay for their diagnostic labor and the harness. Now, with that being said, I'd hate to see the labor cost for this job.
