Chevy breakin
Re:Chevy breakin
no big deal...pull the rear window out...slowly...once it is out put rope in window seal and lead one end into the cab. 1 guy hold window and push slightly. THe other guy pull the rope inside the cab and the window will go right back in. Been there done that.
good luck.

Don't know about the s-10 specifically, but have a pro use the slim jim if you go that route. Pay to have it done, so they will pay for mistakes. If it has power windows/ locks, you risk jerking a wire loose. If it doesn't short out, wiping out your computer, it's still a problem taking the door apart to hook it back up. A lot of new vehicles also have tempered door windows now, that will shatter if the metal catches it just right. You would be hard pressed to find a police agency that will do lockouts, unless there is potential for medical problems.

If you happen to be close to a GM dealership the parts dept can do a key code lookup with the vin and cut a replacement key nominally.
Know this is not quick help..but if all else fails....

You could always get in contact with the local police dept. They have slim jims and know how to use them. Happened to me once, and they helped me out.

I was a cop for 8 years and I broke into more cars than most thieves do in a lifetime. Slim jimin' is easy, but for liability purposes, most dept's will make you sign a waiver in case they cause any damage.-Steve
