Cool Block Heater on 1st gen

Got a problem with my 1st gen Ram. Block heater shorted out. Any one know if you can just replace the cord or if the hole thing needs to be replaced (checked outlet and cord they are not bad). I have not removed the heater from the block yet as it is my daily driver. Any one remove and replace one yet? any advice, but im staying away from the local dealers on this one dont want to pay their price.

I have had the same problem. I replaced just the cord hoping it would fix my problem but it didn't. I can order them seperately from a place called southwest truck parts. Mainly carry parts for big trucks but they have a lot of stuff for the 5.9 since its such a popular irrigation engine. Check at a place that sells parts for semi's etc....
