Question Bands???

My tranny is holding 1st to long and if I get on it hard it feels like it is slipping. Could this just be the bands? I have never touched them before and the truck has 102890k on it.

Mine does the same thing. I'm afraid to take it to the dealer though. I've just been living with it. Mine's a '99 with 75,000 miles.

I think it is a throttle position problem.

Ok I just drove home and 1st gear is hanging up. If feels like if it were a standard tranny and you are holding the clutch to long. All the other gears are good and it isn't doing it every time but more than not. I called the dealer to see what he thought and said maybe the bands or some kind of a pressure switch?? I need my truck on Sunday to haul a load of cattle so I'm in a major bind here.

Not the bands....t.p.s. or a blown clutch "o" ring, if it cant sustain preasure it will hang in the last gear.....adj. the bands will never cure anything except shift timing a little.....they get way too much attn.,,they are nohing more then a brake band that stops a drum ( sungear) from turning
t.m.o.

I reset my APPS a week ago and it took care of all the erratic shifting that I was having. APPS = TPS correct?

Well I adjusted the front band and it took care of the problem 100%. But now I have another problem above the cross-member that hold the tranny up is a sensor going into the tranny. Problem is that I some how ripped the wires out of the sensor and need a new plug for it The truck is running perfect with this senor like this but surely it is there for a reason.
