Oil leaking from blow by or bypass

When I took my 2003 in for trans line recall I mentioned the engine was leaving oil spots in my garage and req. they check it out. I was told it was normal it was coming from the engine blow by, or bypass line. I have not checked it out personally, but wanted to know if this was normal. I have about a dozen spots under my engine where this has leaked on my garage floor. I have had my truck for about a year, and just recently noticed this in the last couple of months. Any ideas if this is normal or an oddity? Thanks!

If you still have the blow by bottle on, I guessing that you need to dump it out.

Ditto.

My manual suggests emptying the blow-by bottle at every oil change. Do you change your own oil? The local shops don't have much going for them with regular gas engined cars and trucks, so I do all my own changes. I know the bottle gets serviced. I have plans to eliminate the bottle this coming weekend anyway, and extend the hose below the engine.

The HPCR engines did away with the bottle and went to a vapor/liquid separator on the top of the valve cover (underneath that plastic cover on the top of the engine. It's a Fleetguard product and has a high and low side with baffles in it. The low side has a tube that allows a majority of the blowby oil to return to the sump through a tube. The high side has a hose that runs down the backside of the engine to vent vapors. It's a much nicer system than the old ones have, but you can still get some drips from it.
