MUSIC - Local Bands you love - SHARE THE NAMES

Ok so I'm kind of a "local & upcoming" band junkie... there are a couple of bands here in the Vegas area that I can't get enough of - so I figured it would be cool to start a thread having ya'll share your home town upcomers with everyone...

Here's my current list:

Blue October (out of Houston)
Endemic
RAYGUNRIOT
Silencer (out of Denver)

Borderline ;D ;D ;D

Local band here in Northern Colorado that plays awesome classic rock and blues. These guys can play anything from AC/DC and Kiss :P to Jimi Hindrix and Stevie Ray Vaughn 8) - and sound clean on every song. They do originals too.

Here's their website. http://www.ridetheborderline.com/

Check out the site, and if you're in CO, check them out locally. You won't be dissappointed.

Actully that is the name of the band in which yours truly plays the Bass, so yeah, they are my local favorite. Classic Rock, Country Rock, Swing, Blues, etc.

Hayseed Dixie rules! I especially love their cover of Big *****.

Another band that used to be local, now getting some mainstream airplay is Bowling for Soup. Genre is pop-punk.

Reckless Kelly does an acoustic version of "you shook me all nite long" on their live @ stubb's cd. When I first heard it, I didn't believe it was them. It's real bluegrassy. It's great.

Pat Green-
pat used to be real cool. I first met him when he was recording "dancehall dreamer" in Lubbock. He'd sit down and talk to you, just hang out and be cool. Just before he got his major-label recording contract, he was a real butt hole. Wouldn't talk to many people, wasn't nice to other bands, just seemed like he thought he was too good for everyone. Nowdays, he's gone back to being nice pat and not a butt, But i'm not a big fan of his new CD, and he himself said it wasn't country. Whatever it is, he's done alot as far a breaking ground for other local(Texas & OK.) acts to get more national attention, be that good or bad.

Re:MUSIC - Local Bands you love - SHARE THE NAMES

Erics76,
Your right he was kind of an butthole but once he got more money I guess you can say he became cooler. Same with Cory Morrow. Cory came into a bar where my brother was working and got drunk with Im guessing a buddy of Cory's . Well my brother had Cory's keys, My brother wouldnt give them to him because he was so drunk....Cory grab'd my brothers keys out of his pocket cause they were half out ya know. Cory says "Fine then I will take your truck". My brother laughed and said ok if you can get into it without falling. Brother's truck is an F350 4x4 PSD with a 12.5" lift. Well Cory went out there and found the truck and couldnt get into it so my brother walked over and Cory told him that he couldnt get in the freakin thing. My bro laughed and said here this guy will take you home or to the hotel. Cory said fine. All in all it was funny and My bro has a piture of Cory tryin like heck to get in to my bro's truck. Which is sign'd cause i didnt believe it was Cory Morrow. But I guess i was wrong.
