Apps voltage reset problems

Hey guys...and gals, I've messed up once again. My mileage was going down so I checked my apps voltage per tech facts and it showed 1.06V(with just the key on) so I adjusted it back to what the sticker said (.518) (I set it at .52). Anyway, today it threw 0121 code and had dead peddle a few times on my way to work. Once I got to work I did the apps reset and let it sit for 3 hours and thought all is good but it's still throwing the code, dead peddle and defueling. I'm monkeying with it right now and this is what I've found: with just the key on it shows .47V but when you start it, it goes to .52V (right where it needs to be). When I set it at .52V with just the key on, it raised to .58V when running. Which one should I use???? I'm planning on doing the reset overnight once I get it figured out.

I've got to get this thing going before tomorrow so any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I know a few have tried adjusting the APPS, but really the last step in this is the reset procedure. Not really moving the actual APPS on the bracket.

INSTALLATION
The APPS is serviced (replaced) as one assembly including the lever, brackets and sensor. The APPS is calibrated to its mounting bracket. The APPS assembly is located at left-front of engine below plastic cable/lever/linkage cover (Cable/Lever/Linkage/Cover).

Snap electrical connector into bottom of sensor.
Position APPS assembly to engine and install 6 bolts. Tighten bolts to 12 N·m (105 in. lbs.) torque.
Connect wiring harness clip (APPS Assembly) at bottom of bracket.
If equipped with an automatic transmission, refer to Group 21, Transmission for transmission control cable installation procedures.
Install speed control cable into mounting bracket. Be sure pinch tabs (Cables at Throttle Lever) have secured cable.
Install throttle cable into mounting bracket. Be sure pinch tabs (Cables at Throttle Lever) have secured cable.
Connect throttle cable at lever (snaps on).
Connect speed control cable to lever by pushing cable connector rearward onto lever pin while holding lever forward.
Install cable cover.
Connect both negative battery cables to both batteries.
ECM Calibration: Turn key to ON position. Without starting engine, slowly press throttle pedal to floor and then slowly release. This step must be done (one time) to ensure accelerator pedal position sensor calibration has been learned by ECM. If not done, possible DTC's may be set.
Use DRB scan tool to erase any DTC's from ECM/PCM.

Well, I put it back where it was before I started messing with it to see if it'll run right. I hope I'm not out $400 for a new one.

Make sure the plug on your APPS is properly secured to the harness plug--I re-set mine and it threw a code--found the plug was not properly seated

I don't get it. Right now the apps is set at 1.05V and is doing perfect (20miles on test run). The apps sensor tag says .518V. Doesn't make any sense but I guess I'll have to go with it. I guess tomorrow will be the real test cause I'll be taking to work.

I put new batteries in it but it didn't change anything. My meter has 2 settings on it. I'm not very well versed on these things, but I think they are mDC and DC but I can't remember which one I used. I'm pretty good at taking parts off and putting them on but not good at figuring out stuff like this. Do you know what setting it should have been on?

mdc is probably for millivolts like you would read from a thermocouple on older gas appliances.

what i should of said is maybe your voltmeter is not calibrated internally. do you have access to another meter to see if it shows the same readings as yours?

I haven't touched it since I put it back. So far so good though. Good luck with yours and hopefully you won't have the same frustrations as me.
