AC fan Woes
I have a 2000 dodge ram 2500 ctd
I am having problems with my fan for ac-heater
It does not matter what setting you turn to, ie ac-vent, defrost. The blower will put a little air out of the selected item, but most of the air comes out of the heater vent. ALSO,The control that sets the speed for the blower works.
What should I be looking at???
Thanks
Al

Either you got a leaking vacuum line under the dash, a bad vacuum servo, or something has been dropped into the vent duct and jamming a door.
I would look at simple things like the vacuum lines under the dash and listen for hissing noises.
Vacuum servos are about 50 buck to replace...
On my Mom's truck someone dumped a whole box of BB's down the defroster vents. The was cause vent doors to jam and stick. Also about 6 BB's got into the vent servo for the indoor / outdoor vent. It rubbed a hole in the diaphram and cause it to behave funny. If the rubber folded just right the servo worked...
Just my 5 cents...

No hissing noises, but kind of hard to hear with the mighty cummins raoring.
Is there any way to check selector switch ie: heater, defroster, vents??
The thing that is bugging me is that they say if there is a vacum problem then it will automatically go to defrost. Mine is mostly commung out of the heater vent with a little air comming out of the selection that was made on the selector switch.

Bump>>
Anyone have any sugestions for this problem.
I stuffed rags in the heater vent and it has helped get a little more air to the vents.
I have found found the selector panel and it is sold as one peice, go figure, but they want 150.00 and tax for it....
