'96 idle adjustment question

Hi to all,

I got a quick & easy question for you: Need a little help finding the right adjustment point to raise the idle of my Cummins a little. Mine has either vibrated loose or slipped a little.

Currently my idle with AC on is down in 250 – 300 RPM range and on occasion she’ll stall out when particularly hot (ambient temps are reaching into the 90’s around here).

Also the correct settings (RPM level, AC on or off, engine hot or cold, etc.) that I should follow.

Specs: ’96 Cummins w/automatic transmission, A/C & approx. 185K miles.

Thanks so much, Mike (imthomas@nwi.net)

The top of the bolt has a tendancy to get a groove worn in it. If it's really touchy when you're adjusting it, this is most likely the problem.
