'96 dodge cummins having charging problems help!
I've got a 1996 dodge cummins automatic tranny, the alternator is rebuilded and it still won't charge. What can i do to fix this problem? Please help
These truck [ most all chry. products ] are a hair ball , when it comes to charging systems , because the regulator is in the ECM = computer .
They almost never go bad , but many give up and replace the ECM & or put in an external regulator .
The thing to do is good diagnostics 1st , fix only what is wrong , many times its just a connection fuse problem , fusible links at drivers side battery & grounds .
Are your battery terminals showing signs of corrosion ?

What kind of voltage are you seeing at your battery terminals with the truck running?
I believe there are some old threads here where people have wired in an external voltage regulator.
