94 starts then dies instantly

my 94 did this yester day. it fired shut off. i restarted and it started up just fine and ran normal. then last night i went to start again and it wouldnt. after a few tries and putting fuel in the tank it started and ran fine. this morning it wont run. it starts and dies immedietly. it runs and sounds good for about one second and then dies. any ideas? i know it has fuel in the tank. i wish i had a fuel pressure gauge right now! i have been holding off on that! help! and thanks

You shouldn't need a fuel pressure guage. Your LP is pretty much bullet proof. Next time it quits leave the key where it is and go out to check the plunger on the shut-down solenoid. If it is down then I think you should look at the shut-down relay on the firewall. Try swapping relays and see what happen.

whats ur idle at? could be a really low idle...when i bought my truck from the previous owner it was at 500rpms and i had to hold the throttle for 20 sec to keep it from dying...and when i hit reversed before it was warm it would croak...so maybe ur idle is low should be at approx 800
