24v help! No start

My buddy is in Beliz with his dads truck, and(02 24v with 213k miles, ext cab shortbed, automatic), and it has been running great and now wont start. Lift pump runs good, but it will not start, and batteries are good, because it cranks fast. He checked the codes with the on/off thing, and it said CCD. Any info on what CCD means? He is cracking an injector line right now to make sure it is getting fuel, and is getting ready to call me back. Any ideas, or things to check?? Any help is appreciated.

Eric

P.S. Truck has an edge comp box on it.

Well he just called back, and the truck is getting no fuel, so they are going to buy a lift pump soon, and put on it. They pulled the fuel filter, and it wont pump any fuel to the filter, and there is no leaks; so sounds like its the lift pump. Thanks for the help, and i will keep you all updated.

I believe CCD means that the PCM and ECM aren't communicating.

This might be due to a bad connection.

I'd start with the connections on the Comp, disconnect, check, clean, reconnect.

Bad news for your buddy. IMHO the IP is dead too. The IP will suck fuel until it burns up. Without the extra fuel cooling it it will burn up.

These trucks MUST have a fuel pressure guage on them.

Yeah; the IP very well could be dead. Took off the Lift pump and it made noise, but pumped no fuel what so ever. The truck NEVER popped; missed or anything even at WOT. I just find it hard to believe it would run great with NO problems, and then just crap on its face. I think they are going to put a new lift pump on it, and just try it, and if that doesent fix it, then they are gonna have a new pump put on it. That is the ONLY reason i hate 24v's. They eat pumps like i eat chocolate.

Thats why its important to have fuel gauges for watching that lift pump , to replace the LP before it kills the main pump. I had a ? what is it like to get parts and service in Beliz ?

Well; they said there is a Cummins dealer in Beliz city, Beliz, so i guess parts arent a problem, but the mechanic part is a little lacking i think. I havent heard back from him yet with any info though. Still hoping its not the IP.

This happened to me. It was my fuel tank...it was out of fuel. My sending unit crapped out, and everything in your post is EXACTLY what happened to me. I thought it was my IP, then LP, because I opened up the fuel canister and there was no fuel, but the LP pump was running. My fuel gauge said 1/4 tank.

Fill the tank up first.

I appreciate the ideas guys. I already asked him about that after doing some searching just to be sure though. He didnt check the tank, but said they hadnt driven far at all since they filled it up. I might get him to check a little more in depth next time i talk to him. Thanks

Just went through the same thing truck was down 3 weeks just too busy to work on, filter was plugged and LP was bad, Thing about LP is that it makes noise and will not pump fuel, took me awhile to figure this out.
