2004.5 stock silencer tube from intake
My buddy has a 2004.5 and we are trying to remove the inside of the silencer tube. Does the tube disassemble to get the inside fins out? Or do we have to cut them out?
Thanks.....
Thanks.....
I have done several. You can cut the inside guts of the tube out with a saw. It takes about five minutes. Just watch you dont cut the tube itself and once your done cutting blow the inside shavings out before reassembling.
I have an 04.5. It is very easy. At the top of the tube, it is pressed together. You can see the ring around the top. Put a screwdriver in the gap and pry it open. The baffles will come right out. You need a good 2 part epoxy to re-assemble the top of the tube. I do not suggest taking the fins out that are in front of the turbo, they re-direct the air flow and make it smoother. See my gallery for pics... If you have questions, PM me, I'll answer them, and send you pics if you need them.

Take Madhats advice... Then you can always just put the stock one back on if needed. The stock one will go right in the box the silicone tube ships in so you can store it away. That is exactly what I did but I went with a black one. I did not want the Ford Blue in my truck. I leave the blue stuff for the mustang.

I have the same thing it is just black.. they do work well and use 2 less clamps than the AFE torque tube I had on before.
Just joking about the Ford Blue. The company I bought the black one from said he had never thought about it being Ford Blue and ordered me a black one. All he stocked was the blue before I asked for black.
