2004.5 oil pressure drop

Hey guys, asking a question for my buddy. He has a 2004.5 CTD qaud cab 4 x 4 with auto. 45,000 miles. Today he noticed the oil pressure gauge drops when he come to a stop. Truck is running fine. He has owned the truck for 2 months and this is the first time this has happened. Truck is stock. Do the 2004's have any issues with oil pumps, oil pressure gauge or oil pressure sending units? Thanks......

i have an 04 1/2 and mine was dropping and jumping around but took it to a dodge dealer and it was the sending unit or something like that and it never did it again under warranty thank god but now i have my own new issues lol but to be safe i would get a dealer to take a look at it just in case its not the gauge good luck

No problem.... I already told him he has a warranty, go use it..... I have only been into diesels for three years. But I own 5 of them. Two 2004 CAT motors, 2003 CAT motor, 1994 Cummins and 1984 CAT Motor...!!!!

I told my friend that the oil sending unit or gauge could be faulty. But like you said you can never be to safe. He is taking a trip this weekend and does not want to have any issues. I was just asking if anyone else on here had the same issue with their 2004.5. Thanks for the response stroker.......
