d oil pressure drop

I was drivin home and my oil pressure dropped to 0 for about 2 seconds, then came back to normal. Then about a minute later it did it again, then came right back up. And had not done it previously, and didn't do it again for the rest of the 10 min ride home, should i be worried. tomorrow i will check the oil level, i just got it changed yesterday.

Sound like a bad sender. Very common problem with the 2nd gens.

i just got the oil changed the other day, started happening after i got it changed. I just got the truck and the previous owner used kendal oil and i started with some mobil 1, think this could be the problem, and it only does it when coming to a stop. There is plenty of oil, but the oil looks wierd, kinda greenish, but i never had a diesel so i guess the oil is different

Just a thought, when you suddenly change from a regular dino oil to a synthetic, there is the potential to loosen up some sludge. Going to a synthetic can "clean" or break loose old build up in the engine. But, it sounds like you just changed the oil, so it may be a little soon for this to happen, and the "cleaning" or "loosening" of sludge may be a little blown out of proportion, but I believe it can happen.

I agree, more than likely it is the oil sending unit, but just wanted to mention the possibility of the above. Good luck, Kevin
