1000rpm max? Now wont start.

Went to start my truck last night, idled rough then smoothed out. Give it full throttle, 1000rpm max. This morning, the truck wont start. Cranks over just fine. Ive got 16psi to the IP. Cracked loose the #3 injector line behind the IP, fuel dribbles. Crank over the engine and fuel spits out 2-3 inches, in pulses. Almost looks like there might be some air mixed in. I checked everywhere for leaky lines all the way to the tank, nothing. Injector lines are all tight. The check engine light is on also. Didnt have any problems before this. All the things I checked, I got off this board this morning, great site, but now im confused. Also cycled the key 3 times, got the p 1693, which has been there since I bought the truck in june. Thanks for any info.

Do you have an Autozone up there, or access to a scanner? There's a chance you might see a P0216, for the dead VP44.....

I assume you have the pressure gauge plumbed in after the fuel filter, so a plugged filter isn't the issue. Gelled fuel perhaps? Are you running any additives?

No autozone here, but a Schucks auto parts. Ill call them and see if they scan. Fuel gage is plumbed in right behind the IP. I am running powerservice in every tank.......Just called Shucks, they do scan. Now I need to find a way to get it on my trailer and find a rig to tow it there.lol. Thanks

Ask if you can leave them your credit card or lisence while you borrow the scanner for a little bit. Some places will be nice enough when you have a bad situation like that.

Thanks Badme, good posts. Had the truck scanned, P1688.
Just what I wanted to hear. Trying one more thing, then pulling the pump. Thanks for the replies, we'll see what happens.
