i got an 04 ctd and started out with chugging sound and switched the truck back to stock with the proggrammer and now if you just sit still and idle the truck up to grand and higher it gets real rough and if your driving it will start cutting out real bad and almost die like knocking sound and smoking but then when you let out will go back to normal for a while then do it again wondering anyone ever had this happen thank you

 

Any changes made recently to the engine?? And have you checked for codes?

 

not throwing anycodes and not sure what you mean to chang to engine but havent done anything to it

 

If codes are not present when checked with a scanner, it sounds as though it could possibly be one or more injectors failing. Do you have any gauges to monitor boost, fuel pressure or egt??

 

Try pulling the codes most likely FCA or injector.

 

i got a boost guage and it pegs out when u get into it it stops at 30 psi and it hits the peg
