so i finaly finished my cummins swap. stated it up idled fine went to put the truck to the floor started sputterring a little.i went ahead and bleed the lines .didnt help.then i let it run for about 15 min at idle truck started blowing smoke like crazy rpms wont go past 1500 rpm to the floor.no powerdiesel comming out exhaust .i pinned the timming when iput the engine in .not sure of the problem any advice please thankyou

 

Diesel fuel is coming out of exhaust?
what color smoke?

 

Did you pin the cam at the same time? I would get the timing done properly, then you know where its at, not just guessing.

 

Could you possibly have a large boost leak?

 

You don't make boost free-revving, and no boost won't cause diesel to come out the exhaust. The timing is just retarded.

 

i pinned the injection pump at the same time as the cam .could my timming have slipped? was also thinking about the fuel overflow valve if it was broken if it would mess things up?smoke was white/gray.thanks
