04 Dodge Cummins Wiring Harness

The dealer has had my 04 Dodge with a 5.9 Cummins truck for the past three weeks replacing parts at their expense. After replacing the computer and other sensors they have determined that the main plug on the wiring harness is not making contact and causing resistance. Now they are telling me that the wiring harness is going to cost $2000 to replace! And I am supposed to flip the bill because that is not covered by the warranty! This all started when I was driving down town and I thought the engine stalled, however it was just running at an idle. If the gas pedal is depressed the RPM stays at an idle, yet it starts and runs smooth it just wont go anywhere beyond an idle. After waiting an hour for a tow truck I got mad and kicked the gas pedal and made a slanderous remark toward Dodge, them all at once the RPM screamed up! So I drove back to my shop, and waited for the tow truck instead of attempting the long drive to the dealer. If anyone has knowledge about these issues please let me know.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Find another dealer. The vehicle wiring harness is in six major sub-assemblies.
When the various assemblies are identified, they are identified by their major functions. There is none called by any reference to a "main plug," so you are on the receiving end of major BS, or maybe the Main BS.

The 2004 was/is notorious for having a chaffed wire down under the engine near the A/C compressor. You have to crawl under the truck to find it. Here is the thread describing the problem:
