08 Died in Havre,MT

Hey All,
My BIL is heading east to the oil fields in their new to them 2008 3500 4X4.

They had some body work done and the bed was removed to fix a problem affecting the rear window.

He's 300 miles from Eureka and 400 from S. Dakota. The truck is at the Havre Dodge dealer at this time.

Symptoms: Truck wouldn't start, just click three times according to my sister. He says the batteries and cables are good and has checked all the electrical conns under the hood. Apparently the voltmeter dropped and it was dead in the water. No power to anything. Didn't the 3rd gens have a faulty ignition switch connector or something?

He is pretty mechanically inclined, just hates wires! Go figure.

Any thoughts?

Thanks, Kurt

That was what was wrong with a friend's Mega. I asked my BIL about that but he says everything electrical under the hood is tight... He's got it at the dealership now and will see what they will find tomorrow a.m.

Thanks!

Ended up being a bad battery!!

Kudos to the Havre Dodge dealer for getting him up and running for only $133!

They took the battery to Walmart and exchanged it for him and put it in the truck and ran a full diagnostic.

This dodge dealership should be an example to others.

Thanks for the help.
