01 knock noice and white smoke(bent push rod)

Well first change all injectors to ones i know are good, Then
We pulled the pan off, no prob everything tight, Checked out the cam looked fine. Then the head came off everything looked fine head valves pistons rockers, but there was one slightly bent push rod the last one, Now i am not sure if we bent it trying to get the head off but i do not think we did, does any one know what may cause this? I am thinking a cam lifter problem, valves we not bent opened closed and moved fine. Any one have any ideas? Im stumped? Would an injection pump make any noise like that?

it would be easier if you were able to post a video of the noise.

You should have pulled the push rods before you removed the head. If you didn't then my guess would be, that it got bent when you removed the head.

Sorry lack of disc. All i have been doing is tring to fig it out. But today i got it fixed, it ended up being the number 5 piston got a little warm at one time and melted just enought to make it loose in the cyl but not score it up any. After a little more research found a little tear in the intercooler boot which i am guessing caused the egt to sky rocket and burn it up. So lets see what happens. Thanks Marc
