Here's my 6'' aussies and I have a 'drain' at the lowest point after the muffler and before the 90* elbow going up. I set up the stacks so I can park in my garage, it has about 1'' clearance.

And as for the noise level, my turbos are louder. I bought my 5''tb exh. from an ebay store called 'spectrumperformance' and whatever brand of muffler it is, it doesn't have any drone and it's been pretty quiet.

That's what they make rain caps for. Mine in action. It works fine, no soot after rain.

You either run rain caps, or put a drain hole someplace for the water to go. Last winter I had about 4 inches of snow sitting on my rain caps.

Most of the time a piece of flexpipe is sufficient for drainage. But yes soot can be an annoyance at times.

A coffee can over the stack keeps the water out.
