Why would a good friend not take good advice

A few months ago one of my best friends was out visiting and I made the comment that he should replace that old lift pump on his 2003 or at very least put in a fuel pressure gauge. I even gave him my old one just in case. Well I got a call today saying he got left on the side of the road. I told him to check for fuel in the filter canister and low and behold there was none. So I asked him if still had the pump that i gave him, shure do at home in the garage 300 miles away. So now he is at the dealer getting the in tank pump installed. just had to vent a little

You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink!

"some people listen, and some need to pee on the electric fence for themselves"

I have never heard anything more accurate than that one.

Too bad he didn't at least keep the pump in his tool box eh?

I had a good friend pee on my electric fence once, I'm sure he will ALWAYS look for a wire in the tall grasses. An hour before, I warned him about the electric fence.

No way. One of my dad's brothers accomplished that feat before my time. The other one bit it! That's the truth.

The canister pump just dies and a fuel psi gauge probably would't have made much of a difference. I find most that get towed in all I have to do is give the pump "cpr" with a mallet and I can drive it in for the in tank install. At least he's getting a good pump now and it will all be behind him.
