Thumbs up Whats the best utility mod you've done to your truck?

Alright guys, just curious to see what your personally favorite utility mod is on your truck. Winches, Tool Boxes, Lighting, Lock Boxes, Under seat storage, etc. etc...(Pics would help)

I have a few. One of my fav's is having my Mag-Lite mounted on the floor next to my drivers seat, easy to get to, always know where it is, takes up un-used space, looks really clean, and only cost $10 for the brackets.

Of course the tool box is a must have, so I can lock my tools and whatnot in something besides the cab.

I also have a couple of D-rings on my hitch, makes throwing on safety chains much easier, and pulling someone out of a ditch or whatever is faster and safer.

I'll get pics up when I get my truck back...

What ideas do you guys have?

I added a small Knack box in the bed for the floor jack, air compressor, tire tools, flares, shackle, hitches, etc.

I installed a 5/8" thick conveyor belt for a bed liner. Excellent mod!

Stainless steel plate covering the inside and top edge of the tailgate.

D rings from Tractor Supply that bolt on in place of the plastic tie down cleats.

Onboard air is coming soon.

Mystery switch for on demand lockup in the mountains.

Behind the seat permanent tool box, fire extinguisher, ice chest, blanket, gloves and binoculars.

I did the zip-tied milk crate in the bed too - nice for tossing small stuff into without having to crawl up under the tonneau to get them.

My hard-mounted block heater plug has been very useful. I picked up the one Geno's offers and have used it for a couple years without incident. Beats the heck out of fishing around under a winter-crud-coated bumper for a winter-crud-coated plug.

I leave a small rope tied to the front drivers side bed rail so I can tie off anything I need to in a hurry.

The best thing I've done is this hitch pin holder I made out of 2" angle iron that bolts to the bottom of my hitch using a 2" U bolt. I have a 1" pin on one side and a 3/4" pin on the other on 30" of chain that's bolted to the angle iron in the middle. I never used to be able to keep hitch pins with my truck but now I've always got two. Something else I really like is the fleet style jumper cables that are hard wired to the batteries with a quick coupler on the front bumper so I can use them without opening the hood.

I used a ratchet strap between 2 rings for my milk crate mod.

I would have to say mine is the roll up bed cover. Its out of the way when not needed but keeps my stuff dry when needed.

On board air!! Use it all the time!! air jack, air tools, airing tires whatever!!

Of course my custom mounted toolbox that is level with the bed rails and allows me to still slide 6-8 4x8 sheets of plywood under... Toolbox serves as well toolbox/ water/meth holder/ nitrous holder/ and fuel treatment holder!

I think I gotta do the on board air thing! What did you use for power? 12V, 115VAC with inverter, PTO, gas, or diesel, and what size of compressor? I guess if you're going to use air tools it would have to be at least a 2HP with 20 gall tank min?

2 55w floodlights on the headache rack for the very frequent times I'm working in the dark. They'll be even more useful when I find the time and warmer weather necessary to wire and power them!

Driving lights under the back bumper. They come on with the reverse lights so I have a chance of seeing what's back there.
